GAF mourns drowned colleague

Personnel of the Gambia Armed Forces, are mourning the sudden death of their colleague, Private Ebrima K Sanneh.

Private Ebrima K Sanneh met his untimely death while taking a bath at the sea in Denton Bridge on Thursday evening when he was on duties at the Denton Bridge Military check point. The body was laid to rest during a military burial at his home village of Bwiam in Foni Kansala, Western Region

Sanneh was not married. He joined The Gambia Armed Forces last year, 2008, after successfully completing a three-month intensive military training at the Fajara Barracks. After the training, he was deployed to the the Guards Battalion at State House, until he met his untimely death on Thursday evening.

His body was recovered on Sunday and was buried on that very day. The military spokesperson, Lt Omar Bojang, confirmed the story and joined his colleagues to extend their heartfelt sympathy to the family of the late Sanneh.
