Gambega gives to MuslimsTuesday, August 10, 2010 Gambega Company, a leading beverage company in the country, Monday made a donation to the Muslims in the country through The Gambia Supreme Islamic Council, ahead of the holy month of Ramadan. The presentation ceremony was held at the Gambia Supreme Islamic Council headquarters along MDI Road in Kanifing. The items, which were received by the president of the Supreme Islamic Council, Alhaji Momodou Lamin Touray for onward distribution to Muslims are 30 crates of Minute Tetra Pak juice and 20 crates of plastic can drinks. Presenting the gifts, Saja Sambou, human resources manager at Gambega on behalf of his country manager, said his company is proud to make the presentation. He cited the good relation that exists between them and the Supreme Islamic Council. Sambou dwelt on the religious harmony that is prevailing in the country, which he said has contributed to strengthening the peace and progress of institutions in the country.He therefore thanked the Supreme Islamic Council for their hard work. For his part, Imam Sheriff Badjan, 1st vice president of the Supreme Islamic Council, expressed good impressions over Gambega’s donation and described the donation as timely. Imam Badjan underscored the importance of peace, which the Islaimc religion is calling for. He prayed for the continued prevalence of peace in the country and also prayed for the Alimghty Allah's blessing and guidance on Gambega Company.Receiving the items, Imam Momodou Lamin Touray, president of the Supreme Islamic Council on behalf of the Imams and the entire Muslim ummah expressed profound gratitude to Gambega, while describing them as true friends of the Supreme Islamic Council. He thanked Gambega for cherishing the holy month of Ramadan, which he said is a month of worshipping Allah as well as seeking his forgiveness.
