Gambia participates at agricultural value chain regional seminarWednesday, July 15, 2009 A representative from The Gambia is currently taking part at a three-day seminar on 'Agricultural value chain' with emphasis on sesame value chain, organised by VECO, a Belgian international organisation which opened yesterday in Dakar, Senegal. Njagga Jawo, the director of the National Women Farmers' Association, is representing the country to this high level seminar. The seminar which ends on Thursday, July 16, 2009, brings together a number of stakeholders and resource parsons with expertise on the development of the various segments of sustainable agricultural chain. During the course of the session, participants are expected to evolve around various segments of the agricultural chain that VECO supports. The Gambian representative, Njagga Jawo, is expected to deliver a presentation on the topic: 'Advocacy of the sesame value chain and processing'. The three-day seminar will also accord participants the opportunity to dilate on areas such as Banana chain, the marketing segment of the chain, sesame chain, the processing segment of the chain and also Fonio chain and the production segment of the chain.
