Friday, August 06, 2010
The Gambia Under 20 team landed in Freetown on Wednesday night ahead of their 2011 African Youth Championship qualifier second leg clash against the Shooting Stars of Sierra Leone on Saturday, August 7.

Having enjoyed an emphatic 4-1 first-leg home victory against the Sierra Leoneans fortnight back, the Coach Lamin Sarr-tutored-side only need to avoid at least a 3-0 defeat at the weekend in order to progress to the second and final round of the qualifier campaign, where they would meet the winner in Tanzania vs Ivory Coast two-legged clash.

With the exception of midefielder Saihou Gassama, who did not travel with the team, Coach Sarr will have several choices to make for Saturday clash with Steve Biko rocky defender Lamin Samateh and Armed Forces Baboucarr Savage, both absentees in the first leg, joining the squad in Freetown.

France-based forward Alieu Darboe, who was an unused substitute during the Banjul first-leg clash, will also be available for selection alongside Sweden-based defender Ebrima Camara.
