Mustapha Kah, a Gambian computer engineer based in the United States, has expressed his resolve to move his computer company from the States to The Gambia to contribute his quota towards the country's development endeavours.

According to him, his company - called Kah Computers - offers a wide range of services from networking, multimedia, web development, to voice and data cabling. "I am also working with another Gambian. We developed a website entirely on medicine, where Gambians outside can access daily information about the latest medical information. We are dong this to contribute our quota towards the technological development of the country," he said in an interview with this paper.

A product of the University of Charlotte, North Carolina, Kah is the son of the late Oustass Mass Kah, a renowned Islamic scholar. Kah, disclosed that he has also established a website called Islaminthegambia.com, where many Gambians in the Diaspora can log on to for daily information regarding religious news back home.

"I think this will further strengthen religious teaching as well as spiritual nourishment among Gambians out there. It has both video and audio links. As a result of this, I sometimes receive phone calls from as far away as India from subscribers who log on to this website expressing their profound gratitude and views about the site," he added. Kah further revealed that his goal is to have The Gambia Radio and Television Services (GRTS) go online to enable Gambians outside to listen to news back home through online radio.

"Right now, we only access information through mediums like your paper and others. I personally know that with the necessary materials in place, I can do this for GRTS, as I did it for energysoundz.com, an online entertainment website based in Sweden," he asserted.
