Gambian DJs set for mega clash

Africa » Gambia
Friday, October 16, 2009
In what could be described as history about to unfold, for the first time in the history of this country, The Gambia's first ever DJ clash has been set.

With a view to promoting our own selectors, as well as promote good music and cooperation among various DJs in the country, December 18th is the day set aside for this grand DJ clash, to be held at the Dream Park in Senegambia. Some of the country's top  DJs including  Fireman, G-Faal, and Blazer, all of West Coast Radio; Pa Boy of City Limits Radio; Jimmy Sense, Diamond and Sky P will take centre stage to thrill their fans to the fullest. The competitors will be judged by the fans themselves.

Organised by Mike Nicols, a Gambian music promoter based in Miami-USA, in collaboration with The Gambia's musical ambassador aka Poor People Governor - Lamin Cham of the Champion Sound Promotions. The day will be another electrifying moment in the annals of the country's entertainment industry.

Lucrative prizes such as a cash amount of D10, 000 and an air ticket to the US will be given out to winners. "This event is intended to promote our own talents and bring music lovers together. We have stars and talents and I think we need to expose them," stated DJ Cham, winner of the presidential DJ award.
