Monday, February 23, 2009
For the first time in the history of the country's creative arts, top modeling houses and aspiring actors and actresses will stage an exclusive concert and fashion exhibition.

The rare event will start on Friday 27th Febuary 2009 at the prestigious Milly"s VIP club in Kololi. The event is organised by YAWS Modeling Agency, established in August 2008. It is expected to bring together renowned models, fashion designers, artists and other stakeholders in the world of fashion. The event will feature different activities promoting fashion, arts, creativity and modeling in The Gambia and beyond.

Awa Conateh, of YAWS Modeling Agency and a member of the organising committee, in a recent chat with Arts and Culture spoke at length on the aims and objectives of her modeling agency, chief amongst which is to promote, develop and preserve the spirit of modeling in the country, recruit and encourage people to enter the world of modeling and fashion. She described fashion and modeling as a noble profession and the show at Milly's  as a must attend for all.
