Gambian shines in Banjul draught tourney

The Gambia Draught Association's Sheikh Njie is among the nine top winners in the just concluded African Draught Champions hosted in Banjul.

Njie's reward for finishing top is a confirmed ticket to represent the continent in the World Draught Championship to be staged in Brazil later this year. The Gambian pulled ten points to finish at sixth position during the ten-day Banjul tournament which was clinched by Senegalese Macoudo Ndiaye.

Other players who bagged World Cup tickets include Jean M. Njo Fang (Cameroon)  Ndiaga Samb (Senegal) Musa Camara (Guinea and Leopard Kouoque (Cameroon) Sadibou Drammeh (Mali), Adama Kone (Burkina Faso) and Souleyman Dieng (Mauritania)
