Monday, August 23, 2010
Ousman Jallow was on target as Brondby move a step closer to the group stages of the UEFA Europa League with a 2-0 first leg win at Sporting Lisbon on Thursday.

The Gambian international added a second goal for the Danish super League side in the 52nd minute after Jan Kristiansen had given them a 1-0 halftime lead at the Estadio Jose de Alvalade XXI. The former Wallidan, Al Ain, and Raja Casablanca forward who continues to lead Brondby’s scoring chart in Europe with his fourth goal of the qualifiers played 73 minutes before being substituted.

It has even been a good mid-week for Gambians playing in respective European competition after Momodou Ceesay’s man of the match performance for MSK Zilina in the first leg of their Champions League qualifiers with a 2-0 win at Sparta Prague.

This was followed by Njogu Demba OB Odense’s 2-1 win over Scottish Premier League side Motherwell in the first leg of their Europa League playoffs in Denmark on Thursday.
