Africa » Gambia
Tuesday, September 15, 2009
The national GSM operator, Gamcel, last Tuesday held its 'Nopal' raffle draw at a ceremony held at its head office along Mamadi Maniyang Higway.

The 'Nopal'  is a new service newly introduced by Gamcel to enable its customers to load 'Nopal' credits and stand the chance to win. However, during Tuesday's raffle draw, three hundred lucky winners won a bag of rice each. These services among others, are part of Gamcel's untiring efforts and dedication to give back to the people in fulfilment of their social corporate responsibilities.

Speaking at the raffle draw, Ramou Nyass, manager of Customer Care at Gamcel, described the draw as timely and worthy, especially during the holy month of Ramadan. According to her, the new service has made giant strides during the promotion as people responded postively; thus making it a household name in the country. She assured that Gamcel will cotntinue to provide services from which their customers will gain something at the end of the day.

Nyass however, used the ocassion to thank the management of Gamcel for their wonderful iniatiatives and called on their valued customers to continue patronising their products. She revealed that 'Nopal' raffle draw is only for those who load 'Nopal' credits and congratulated their winners for their efforts, sadding that the service is part of their series of services in the offing.

For his part, Lamin Fofana, marketing officer Gamcel, said the draw was meant to give something back to the community. "We decided to give out rice, because we felt it is one item that is almost used by every household in this country,"  he said. He expressed Gamcel's commitment to provide such services, to empower its customers. Present at the raffle draw were some senior staff of Gamcel and journalists.
