Gamcel Yaay Borom 6 goes to NBR

Ebrima Jobe, a businessman in Farafenni, North Bank Region, became the latest and final winner of Gamcel's Yaay Borom 6 in their ongoing 2008 grand promotions car raffle draw.

Mr Jobe was handed over the key of the brand new Chery Tiggo car, by Yankuba Colley, the major of Kanifing Municipal Council at a presentation ceremony held at Gamcel headquarters in Mamadi Manynag Highway on Tuesday. Gamcel, the nation's leading GSM operator, earlier on embarked on a massive sales promotion during which a lot of customers won various items ranging from mobiles phones, scholarship, hajj packages, and cars.

The draw  took place at the end of each month and prizes awarded afterwards. Meanwhile, Ebrima Jobe joined other few individuals who benefited from the Gamcel most prestigious prizes. Gamcel also in the past months, have embarked on meaningful developments as part of their corperate social responsible which included, donation of 1000 bags of sugar plus 400 bags of rice during the Ramadam among others. To sum it all, 2600 customers benefited from Gamcel's 2008 grand promotion raffle draw.

Speaking at the presentation ceremony, Almamy Kasama, the director of Customers Services -Gamcel, said the day marked an important day for Gamcel, as its marks the last and the final grand promotion for 2008. Mr Kassama thanked all customers for their efforts adding that Gamcel belongs to every one, as it's the nation's only GSM operator.

Ramou Nyiass-Hydara, manager, customer care -Gamcel, described 2008 as a successful year for the company adding that, a lot of subscribers won valuable prizes from Gamcel ranging from cars, generators, TV sets, scholarships among others.

"Gamcel in recent years, has embarked on many meaningful development initiatives notably in the area of education, health and environment. Also during the months of Ramadan, we gave out rice and sugars to Muslims." she said.

The elated Ebrima Jobe, the winner of the last and the final Gamcel Yaay Borom 6, thanked Gamcel for their wonderful initiatives adding that a lot of customers have benefited in their programmes. The ceremony, also witnessed presentation of cash prizes to the Gamcel chartbuster finalist namely Bala Ranks, Trouble Smallz, News of the Town, and the 2008 chartbuster winner -Magnificent Joe.

It could be recalled that, the Gamcel Yaay-Borom car raffle draw which started six months ago, were earlier won by, Mr Kim of photo Star, Mariama Kinteh of Brikama, Samira Kebbeh of Kanifing, Abdallah Muktar of Banjul and now Ebrima Jobe of Farafenni.
