Gamcotrap 2 case adjourned

Africa » Gambia
Thursday, January 27, 2011
Principal Magistrate Taiwo Ade Alagde of the Banjul Magistrates Court yesterday, Wednesday 26th January 2011, adjourned the criminal trial involving the state against Dr Isatou Touray and Amie Bojang-Sissoho, the executive director and programme coordinator of Gamcotrap respectively.

This development came when the defence counsel, Amie Bensouda objected for the PW8 to give evidence because her witness' (PW8) statement was not served to them despite the court's order for the prosecution to serve the defence with all the relevant documents in the case.

It could be recalled that the case was adjourned to yesterday for the witnesses from Spain to come and testify before the court, but due to the objection from the defence, the presiding magistrate maintained the previous order and accordingly adjourned the case to today the 27th January 2011 for hearing of PW8's testimony.
