Whats On: Gamspirit Music Award slated for April

The Champion Sound Entertainment has announced that its this year's music award will be held in April 2009.

This year, a number of 14 trophies will be given out in various areas notably, Best Selling Album of the Year, Album of the Year, Best Male/Female Artist of the Year, Actors/Actress of the Year, Comedian of the Year, Promoter of the Year, People's Favorite Artist of the Year, and Entertainment Journalist of the Year.

Speaking to What's On yesterday Musa Affia-Ngum, a veteran Gambian artist thanked Champion Sound for coming up with the initiative. According to him, this is the only way to promote our culture. DJ Lamin Cham of Champions Sounds said the main idea behind the award is to promote our culture through music. "This year we want the event to be bigger. It will be covered by 2STV in Senegal and other international media houses,' he said. Watch out for  Gamspirit Music Award coming soon.
