German artist to launch "Alsamadeh" CD

Africa » Gambia
Tuesday, December 15, 2009
Demba Nabeh, a renowned German artist of African descent from the Republic of Guinea Conakry, is set release a single called "Alsamadeh".

The heart rendering and passionate single will be launched alongside a kids book called Monkey Dancing. The song has captured the famous slogan of the Gambian leader President Jammeh and the Gambian communities in general. Mr Nabeh is the lead vocalist and coordinator of Bound Soundz and a member of the prestigious Seed musical band in Germany.

According to a linguistic interpretation handed down to the Arts and Culture desk, "Alsamadeh" means "greetings and honor be unto to you".  The author is famous for his vocals and strong passion for music in Germany and beyond. He is in the Gambia to explore the country's arts and music industry and to partner with artists and stakeholders in the world of arts and music in the Gambia and beyond.

In a recent chat with the Arts and Culture he spoke extensively about his career, the trip to trace his roots in the republic of Guinea Conakry and the subsequent trip to the Gambia sometime in  May 2009. "The world cannot thrive in the absence of peace, unity and understanding between people regardless of religion, origin and what have you. We must all struggle hard towards preservation and development of the world's peace. We must make this world a better place fit for human survival either individually or collectively," he explained to Arts and Culture.
