Friday, June 19, 2009
The Gambia National Lottery (GNL), last Saturday, presented a cheque for D576,000 to one Ebrima Khan as the lucky winner of the Paris Sportif jackpot, at a ceremony held at the company's long champs office near World Mobile Centre at West Field.

Presenting the cheque, the managing director of the company, Dembo Fanta Bojang, said that the presentation was meant to serve as witness for the youths of the country to see the naked reality of GNL. He added that his company would still create job opportunities for many Gambian youths.

For his part, Fabakary Jammeh, Marketing manager of the company, echoed that GNL would leave no stone unturned to increase employment opportunities. According to him, GNL is a partner with government in the nation building. He pointed out that GNL is providing sponsorships to great number of school going children across the country. Speaking on poverty alleviation Jammeh said that GNL is operating in all the regions to create avenues for job, employment opportunities for Gambians.

Other speakers included Mr Misel Gaye, one of the founding members of the GNL; and Amadou Marenah, chief accountant at GNL. The cheque was received by Ebrima Sam on behalf of the winner.
