GNL presents over D300,000 to winners

Africa » Gambia
Monday, September 14, 2009
The Gambia National Lottery (GNL), on Saturday presented over D300,000 to two lucky winners, at a presentation ceremony held at its Westfield branch.

The two lucky winners are Lamin LK Kujabie, who won himself the sum of  290,000 while Fode Mendy won D40,000. Presenting the cheques to the winners, Fabakary Jammeh, marketing officer, GNL, said it is the duty of the GNL to contribute to national development. He highlighted sectors such as the education, health, among others as the areas in which his institute complements government's efforts. "If you are a customer to GNL, you have nothing to lose," he noted and urged the general public to keep on playing.

For his part, Malick Jones, media consultant at GNL said this is the second time in this year, that the GNL is playing jackpot to its customers. "Since last year, the main Jackpot normally based in the main league matches has not been won. It stands at D779,300," he remarked. "Half of the jackpot amount for the main league competitions and the other half amount of D390,000 will be allocated and competed for with the champion league matches," he concluded.
