Governor Seckan calls for unity

The Governor of North Bank Region, Alhaji Eduwarr Seckan, has called on the people of his region to be united and maintain peace and support the implementations of government's development policies and projects for sustainable development.

He commended the community of Kinteh kunda Janneh Ya in Lower Baddibu for their effort in the promotion of traditional norms and values in the dispensation of justice. The Governor made these remarks during the inauguration of a new Alkalo. He used the opportunity to urge the people in the region to rally behind President Jammeh and the APRC party for socio-economic development. He then expressed gratitude to the community of Kinteh kunda for the smooth transition of leadership after the demise of the late Alkalo.

For his part, Chief Fafanding Kinteh of Lower Baddibu, echoed similar sentiments and thanked the village's council of elders for promoting unity and cooperation among families. He tasked the new Alkalo to uphold the principles of fair dispensation of justice and contribute to the maintenance of traditional norms and values.  

The Alkalo, Nyama Kinteh, thanked the government and the people for the trust bestowed on him to lead and handle the affairs of the village. He promised them that he will execute his duties and functions without fear or ill will in open and transparent mannerfor good of the region and country at large.  

He also called on his people to be united and to rally behind the president and the APRC party. Sheriff Sonko, the director of Governance at the Ministry of Local Government and Lands assured them of his ministry's support towards promoting decentralization and improving the well-being of the people.
