Governor Touray hails CRR Green Youths

Africa » Gambia
Tuesday, August 24, 2010
Alhaji Ganyie Touray, the governor of the Central River Region (CRR) has hailed the region's Green Youths for the loyalty and love they have for President Jammeh.

He made this remarks Sunday when he addressed over 300 Green Youths from CRR north who carried out a weeding exercise at President Jammeh's rice farm in Janjangbureh. The governor urged the youths to maintain the unity in their midst and take agricultural activities seriously. For his part, Abdoulie Boye, the CRR farm coordinator, commended the green youths for their egalitarian attitude and versatile style. He stressed that patriotic citizens always participate in national development, adding that farming is the only way forward to ensure food self-sufficiency in The Gambia.

He then urged others to emulate the youths of CRR north. The head of the Green Youths in CRR north, Ndogal Ceesay assured of their readiness at all times to respond to President Jammeh's call, and reaffirmed their unflinching support for the Gambian leader and the APRC. He finally advised the youths to redouble their efforts in farming.
