Gracias NDEA, GAFFriday, August 27, 2010 Editorial The National Drug Enforcement Agency (NDEA) and the Gambia Armed Forces (GAF) have done it again, with the discovery in Foni of more than a ton of the most common illicit drug in the country -Canabis sativa. This most recent drug bust, coming in the wake of the seizure of a large quantity of cocaine a few months ago, has indeed shown that the two institutions are indeed matching their words with action. Drug dealers and enemies of progress in the country will not appreciate the services rendered to the state, but every true and patriotic citizen is saying gracias to NDEA and GAF. With the way things are going, we are optimistic that the NDEA under the dynamic leadership of Benedict Jammeh is doing all it can to counter drug dealers who are bent on circumventing our national development aspirations. NDEA and GAF have sent a clear message that the development of a country is the collective responsibility of all. The Gambia belongs to all Gambians; no one will come outside to develop this country for us. It is thus the sole responsibility of every Gambian most especially the youth of this country to continue the fight against illicit drug-related activity, so that collectively we can defeat the efforts of the drug dealers who are real enemies of progress and development.
