Tuesday, April 10, 2012

Edward Graham, the former managing director of the Social Security and Housing Finance Corporation (SSHFC) and his mother Judith Graham on behalf of the Graham family, have written separate letters to the Gambian leader, His Excellency Sheikh Professor Alhaji Dr Yahya Jammeh, expressing deep and profound thanks for pardoning Edward Graham after his conviction by the Banjul Magistrates’ Court.

The duo also described the move as a demonstration of qualities of a charismatic and sympathetic leader.

The letters read:

Please allow me on behalf of my family and on my own behalf to express to you my deepest, honest and profound thanks and appreciation for granting me pardon upon my Mother’s humble plea to you.

As the father of this great nation, you have demonstrated the qualities of a good hearted, charismatic and sympathetic leader and may Allah (Subuhana wata-ala) reward you abundantly for this great gesture and grant you wisdom, prosperity, good health and long life to continue to steer the affairs of our dear motherland.

Your Excellency, throughout my 30 years service to the Government of The Gambia, I have been loyal committed and guided by a high sense of professionalism towards the development of this great nation and the achievements of vision 2020.

Your brilliance and commitment in directing the affairs of this nation is a motivation for all honest and hardworking Gambians to emulate and I will therefore continue to contribute meaningfully in any way I can towards the achievement of the goals and objectives that will move this great nation to higher heights.

You Excellency, my I also use this opportunity to convey my heartfelt congratulation on your landslide victory in the recently concluded Presidential Election. The people have chosen you and Allah has endorsed our choice. May He grant you and your entire Cabinet wisdom good health and long life to continue to perform your duties in accordance with His will.

I once again thank you for granting me pardon and may Allah (Subuhana wata-ala) reward you abundantly.

Edward Graham

You have once again demonstrated your magnanimous, peace loving and sympathetic qualities to the whole world. The word of God says “ask and it shall be given unto you, knock and it shall be opened to you.”

Your Excellency, I humbly knocked and you opened for me and I humbly asked and you granted my request hence the fulfillment of God’s words. Thus making you a role model to righteous people and God will reward you in abundance for that.

I wish I could see and look you on your face and say a big thank you, unfortunately, due to my blindness I cannot see you but my heart and soul is and will always be with you. You will always be in my prayers for the rest of my life as you are also a pillar and support system for me to continue to live because of the love, care and respect that you have shown me as a loving son and leader.

May the Almighty God bless you and your family with good health, long life, happiness and prosperity in all your endeavors. May God continue to bless you with wisdom in leading this great nation to the higher heights and making it second to none in the world. May your dear mother live long with good health to enjoy the love ad care f an illustrious son of the Continent like you, Your Excellency.

Granting my humble request your Excellency, has enabled me reunite once again with my son who has always been my pillar and support physically, financially, spiritually and emotionally especially during my old age. It has also enable me to continue to receive and enjoy his unconditional love, care and protection.

Once again thank you for your support and care for extending the life of a dying old woman and please know that you are and will always be in my prayers.
