Green snakes in green grass

Editor,

Allow me space to thank His Excellency, Professor Alhaji Dr Yahya Jammeh for his sacrifices and the intentions he has for The Gambia. I am writing in the name of the people of Bakau Farokono, thanking the SoS for Tourism and Culture Nancy Njie, for mobilizing all the youth in my neighbourhood.

I have come to realize that she is very much loyal to the president, and very much concerned about the progress of the APRC party. As they say: He, who knows it, feels it. So I feel that it is my duty as a die-hard Green, to be appreciative of all that government is doing.

I will suggest that we all do our best not to compromise our stance in terms of the pace at which we are moving forward in the national development crusade. I just want to remind the president, as I am sure he is aware of what I am talking about, many Gambian people are loyal to him.  What is important for him as a leader is to continue on the good work; we are behind you in your unflinching effort in upgrading the key sectors in the country's economy, like agriculture.

It is a good idea that government creates more farms across the country and sensitize farmers to grow more corn and related crops, buy these crops and process them into flower, which, in turn, can produce different varieties of food. The price of bread, for instance will go down quite reasonably if we employ this strategy.

Actually it is Allah who gives and takes, so I will urge all and sundry to take it with good heart, especially the youth, to do all they can in support of the president. If we dump aside all feelings of jealousy and give a helping hand to our dynamic president, our dear Gambia can be one of the best countries in the world, just like it has always been the dream of President Jammeh himself.
