GTBank crowned champions

Guaranty Trust Bank (GTBank) have been crowned champions of the Late Famara Jatta Memorial Football tournament after they defeated the Central Bank of The Gambia 2-0 in a final played at the Father Joseph Gough Sports Complex in Manjai Kunda.


The GTBank team, nicknamed the ‘Orange boys’ started the game very strongly, having the greater possession. Their dominancepaid off when Abdou Sanyang gave them the lead after a rushing Central Bank keeper failed to deal with the ball.


Abdoulie Jallow doubled his side’s lead two minutes into the second half.After the game, the managing director of GTBank, Femi Omotoso said he was delighted winning the trophy, adding that the trophy adds to their award of the Bank of the Year for 2011.
