GTBoard meets Glenaki Tourism Consultancy![]() Monday, June 11, 2012 The Gambia
Tourism Board Friday met officials of Glenaki Tourism Industry Consultancy and
the delegation that accompanied them to the country on a three-day Fam-trip, at
the Sheraton Hotel and Spa in Brusubi. Glenaki
Tourism Industry Consultancy is a Belgium-based private-owned public relation
(PR) and marketing agency specialised in travel and tourism. They are the
GTBoard consultancy agency based in Belgium and specialise in different levels
of tourism promotion in terms of press, PR and communication, travel trade
activities and consumer campaigns. Their job for the sector include promoting and increasing awareness ofThe Gambia in Belux in order to bring more tourists to the country, with the aim to extend the season. They are as well working with airlines and tour operators among other functions. Benjamin A
Roberts, the director general of GTBoard thanked the management of Glenaki and
their delegation to The Gambia and commended them for their good marketing
network system. He further expressed confidence in them as the industry is
looking forward for arrival of more Belgians to the country. For her
part, Birgit Defoort, managing director of Glenaki, who is also the head of the
delegation, thanked the GTBoard for their warm welcome and hospitality accorded
them since they arrived for the three-day Fam-trip. Her delegation, comprising tour operators, airliners, tourism management, press among others she said, have gone round the tourism facilities in the country and they are optimistic that Belgians will like them; as they hope to extend the tourism season in The Gambia. Adama Njie, director of Marketing, GTBoard, dilated more on the marketing mechanism put in place by the GTBoard and assured the MoTC and GTBoard of his unit’s readiness to work. He as well thanked Glenaki Tourism Industry Consultancy for the visit and for taking their time to go round the available tourism facilities in the country.
