Hawks bounce back after triumph over Gamtel

Africa » Gambia
Thursday, May 14, 2009
The Red Devil's Hawks FC have bounced back in the ongoing GFA league after stunning Gamtel by 3-0 in a match played at the Independence Stadium, Bakau, after they succumbed 1-0 to Tallinding United.

The victory gave Hawks 22 points, but was not enough to salvage them out of the relegation zone. Bottom side Africell lost their hope of winning their second game in the second round when they drew 1-1 with Real De Banjul in a well-contested game at the Serrekunda East Mini Stadium. Yankuba Jammeh scored for Africell in the 7th minutes for while Edrissa Jarra answered in the 85th minutes from a superb right footer for the City Boys. The Bakau derby between Steve Biko and Bakau United also ended in a 1-1 stalemate. The match was played at the Father Gough Sports Complex.
