‘I will perform my duties with commitment’

Hon. Fatou Mbye, the deputy speaker of the National Assembly has written to the Gambian leader, His Excellency, Sheikh Professor Alhaji Dr Yahy Jammeh, assuring him of her commitment to performher duties withtotal deligence following her nomination as member of the National Assembly, which led to her election as deputy speaker for the second time.


The letter reads:

I write with profound respect, honour and humility appreciating and accepting my nomination as Member of the National Assembly, which again led to my election as Deputy Speaker.


Your Excellency, I am greatly humbled, honored and privileged to be given the opportunity once again to serve as National Assembly Member. I wish to express my deepest appreciation and profound gratitude for the trust and confidence you continue to bestow on me and to assure Your Excellency that; I will continue to perform my duties and responsibilities with commitment and diligence to advance Your Excellency’s noble Vision of transforming our beloved country into a highly developed and economic super power as outlined in the national blueprints of Vision 2020 and the Programme for Accelerated Growth and Employment (PAGE).


Your Excellency Sir, I now seize this unique opportunity to congratulate you, for your resounding victory in the November Presidential Polls and subsequent re-election giving you a 4th mandate to continue to pilot the affairs of our beloved country. This is a clear manifestation of the love, trust and confidence, we the Gambian people have for you.


Your exemplary and visionary leadership qualities couple with excellent developmental policies and programmes are sound ingredients for good governance, poverty alleviation, women’s empowerment, quality education for all, good health and improved living standards for all Gambians.


Whilst thanking Your Excellency once again for the trust and confidence, I pray for Your Excellency and the entire First Family for your continued good health, long life and Allah’s continuous guidance, support and protection at all times. Please accept, Your Excellency Sir, the assurances of my highest consideration and esteem.

In a similar development, one Masaneh Bojang , has alsowritten to the Gambian leader.

It is indeed an honour and great pleasure to extend my profound gratitude to you for your steadfastness, dedication and hard work. I wish to congratulate you on your recent presidential election victory.


This is a clear testimony to show how the youths are committed towards your good leadership and patriotic drive. Your love, sympathy and concern for the Gambia is manifested in your dynamic and relentless strive towards progress. We as citizens of Foni will work extremely hard to attain your aspiration (which debuts forward ever and backward never) we are all willing to contribute immensely to nation building.


With commitment and loyalty, we shall always be behind APRC. It is the party that all ambitious citizens love. Every concern Gambian has seen the rapid changes made by this party within a very short term. In the same vein I wish to thank you for selecting Hon. Buba Bojang as MP for Foni Kansala District. Your choice is ours and we are cherished to have an innovative leader who directs us when necessary.


I have been contesting for the National Assembly candidature on three occasions without succeeding and is been taken in good faith. However your encouragement and advice to the nation has prompted all hands to be on deck. With zeal and much aspiration, I am willing and shall do my utmost through your noble leadership and support.


May Allah, the Almighty shower blessings on your aspiration, grant you strength and good health to attain the goals of Vision 2020.

From the bottom of my heart, I pray to Allahu Talla to guide you and give you more courage towards your endeavours.
