IEC sets date for Sare Ngai Ward by-election

The Independent Electoral Commission (IEC) has announced the date for the by-election in Sare Ngai ward, following a notification from the Basse Area Council of the vacant seat.

According to a release issued yesterday, the IEC stated that it will conduct a by-election to fill the said vacant seat in the Basse Area Council on Thursday 28th October 2010.

Accordingly, the IEC added that Monday 18th October 2010 is nomination day and campaign begins from Wednesday 20th to Tuesday 26th October 2010. "Consequently, nomination forms for intending candidates could be collected from either the IEC's headquarters along Bertil Harding Highway or the IEC Regional Office situated in Mansajang Kunda, Basse from Monday 11th October 2010," the release concluded.
