Immigration Department Female Officers Association formedFriday, August 03, 2012 The Gambia Immigration Department Female Officers Association was recently formed by the female officers of the Immigration Department. Speaking to this reporter on Wednesday, Commissioner Hulay Jallow, the president of the Association who also doubles as commissioner of Refugees at the Gambia Immigration Department, explained that the aims and objectives of the Association are to promote or cement the already existing ties among themselves and also participate in all aspects of national development. She said
they also have specific objectives such as identifying, planning and managing
projects aimed at promoting the socio-economic development of its members in
the interest of the organisation. Jallow
acknowledged that since the formation of the Association the women have been
given magnificent support and encouragement by the Command of the Immigration
Department. She further disclosed that the Association was formed when the female officers sensed the need to complement the efforts of government in nation building and therefore deemed it necessary to contribute individually and collectively to improve the quality of life of Gambians and those of the members of the Association.
