Below we re-produce the full text of the press release:
"The general public is  being categorically informed that the management committee of the Independence Drive Mosque under the knowledgeable Senior Mosque Committee, is working strictly under the agreement provided by the Gambia Supreme Islamic Council, which the committee fully agreed to and supported without reservation as the only working document of the mosque," the release further stated.

"All donations to the   Independence Drive Mosque refurbishment project could still be passed through the Mosque's AGIB account in Banjul and also with  Mr. Lamin Bojang, manager  Finance Administration, Trust Bank Ltd Banjul and Alhaji Masamba Senghore, vice principal of Gambia Senior Secondary School, Banjul," the press release added.

"The committee wishes to make it abundantly clear that the only management committee of the Independence Drive Mosque is the one under the chairmanship of Alhaji Babou S Sowe and with your usual support and generosity in the name of Islam, he will continue our good work to the satisfaction of the Gambian Muslims generally and that of the Banjul Ummah in particular," the release concluded.
