Interior minister grateful to President JammehThursday, May 24, 2012 Ousman Sonko, the minister of the Interior has written to the Gambian leader, His Excellency Sheikh Professor Alhaji Dr Yahya Jammeh, thanking him for according himthe chance to serve in various capacities in the government, which indicates the confidencethe president has in him. In a letter of appreciation addressedto the Gambian leader, Minister Sonko assured that he will continue to expend every effort to match these expectations. The letter reads: May I first
and foremost take this opportunity to wish Your Excellency and the first family
the best of health with happiness and prosperity. Please permit me Sir, to
express my sincere thanks and appreciation for according me the chance to serve
in various capacities in the Government, which indicates the confidence you
have in me. Of particular reference is my recent re-appointment as the Honourable Minister of the Interior. This and even prior to this as stated earlier, are reflections of the trust you have in me. I want to emphasis that this confidence and trust you bestowed upon me are ever alive than before as we continue to work diligently to ensure that the great vision you have for this country is achieved within the expected time frame. While accepting my appointment as the Honourable Minister for the Interior with enormous delight, I pray to Allah Subuhana WaTallah, to give me the wisdom and fortitude to execute my duties with utmost efficiency and fruition. I also seek Your Excellency’s continued support and guidance in this respect. I have no doubt that the support and advice will continue to be provided as it has always been. Finally, I and my entire family, once again wish to thank Your Excellency for all the benevolence and confidence you have in me.
