Introducing M L C - The young rap sensation![]() Friday, July 31, 2009 MLC is one of the youngest rappers in The Gambia at the moment. Born in the Northern African state of Libya, where his parents resided for sometime before moving back to The Gambia at the age of 6, he attended Bakau Lower Basic School, where he was appointed as the head boy of the school. Upon successfully completing Bakau Lower, proceeded at Cates Junior and later at Gambia High School, where he completed his education. Since then, he concentrated in the music business. His first Single was 'Scorpions', which was recorded during the under-17 world Cup. MLC's mere act of surviving on a day to day basis is the foundation, from which he builds his craft. Multi-talented superstar MLC, is no exception to this rule. His dynamic single, 'Freay Ladies', was his second single after 'Scorpions', a collection of stirring songs. 'Freaky Ladies' basically is talking about dem gals dem, especially school mates how sexy they are and how some of them take that as advantage to do things that are not done. To understand where MLC, is right now is just half the equation. The other half lies in where he came from, as he really possesses a unique history. According to Gambuster websites, it was MLC's deep rooted love and passion for music, evolving from filial admiration, which allowed him to turn his life around. Despite going through so many things as a youth, he still keeps his head up to achieve what he wants. The Gambian star, is residing at Bakau Newtown, a town were you can find all types of talented musicians, but he still try to be on top. Once music took over his life, MLC's musical development exploded and he began channelling his energy into writing his own music. Songs such as "As you can see" showed how much hip-hop has influenced him. However, life does not solely revolve around beautiful women and leisure time and MLC, is well aware of this. When he became well known in music, he decided to stay away from girls, and concentrated more on the music even though it wasn't easy for him. ''When you want to get something in life very fast you have to limit yourself from all pleasures. Not stoppping them but just limiting them," said MLC. He wrote more than 250 songs out of which he recorded only 15 songs at the moment including 'Freaky Ladies', 'Bashment Night, 'Aids', '24:7', 'Scorpions', 'Better must come' 'Alkyma' (Day of Judgement) and many more. He is now working hard for the upcoming album which may be coming out before the end of the year. Author: Sheriff Janko | Media Actions |
