Jarra Central chief, 5 others granted bailWednesday, August 08, 2012 Bakary Dampha, the chief of Jarra CentralDistrict in the Lower River Region and five other persons who were over the weekend arrested and detained at the Mansakonko Police Station, have been released on police bail, Daily Observer has confirmed. The others
are Lamin Saidy, the regional disaster coordinator with his friend, Lamin
Darboe; Modou Konteh and Abdou Colley, staff of Free From Hunger Campaign
(FFHC); and Momodou Wurry, a shopkeeper in Jappineh. The six are alleged to have sold WFP rice meant for the farming communities in Jarra Central.
