Two of the country's sprouting Mbalax stars  -Jaye Mbaye and Modou Njie, also known as MJ, are currently busy in the studio for the final release of their debut album.

The duo, whose rapid rise to stardom came after the successful release of  'Talibeh' on GRTS TV, believe this upcoming album will be one of their best artworks. The album comprises of some hit tunes like "Fans', 'Talibeh', 'Njirin" among others. The two stars started their music career a couple of years back, and released their first ever album in 2007, a song dedicated to the Gambian leader, His Excellency Sheikh Professor Alhaji Dr Yahya Jammeh, for his development efforts. Since then they have been making frantic efforts to release their masterpiece.

Speaking to What's On yesterday, Jaye Mbaye disclosed that preparations are in high gear for the final release of the album. She said: 'We are left with only one song to go. Actually we were influenced into music by the Senegalese Mbalax supremo-Youssou Ndoure." She pointed out that what is most interesting in this upcoming album is the song they dedicated to the Gambian leader for his development initiatives.

She used the opportunity to call on their fans to remain steadfast, as their debut album will hit the streets very soon. "We are working hard and you know working on an album is not easy as we want to make this one of the best masterpiece," she said, while commending President Jammeh for his support towards Gambian musicians and music in generally.

"We even participated in the just ended 5th Kanilai International Cultural Festival and we want to thank all our fans both here and abroad for their support for all these years".It could be recalled that some of the singles in this upcoming album are currently doing well in the music scene, which many music enthusiasts believes their upcoming album will be one of the best.
