Jammeh Foundation for Peace (JFP) recently presented clothes and shoes to the North Bank Regional Disaster Management Committee for the recent flood victims in the region.

The gesture is in response to the committee's call to support the affected families who were severely hit by the recent floods which resulted to the loss of clothes, foodstuffs, household items and displacement of families. The donation he said, would complement the efforts of government in providing humanitarian services to the people in dire need for help. Panneh noted that the foundation would continue to support people to improve their livelihood in all areas of national development, with the objective of creating conducive environment for people to effectively contribute to national development. He reassured the Regional Disaster Management Committee and beneficiaries of their continuous support towards empowering families and individuals in the attainment of better living standards for people.

Alhaji Edwarr Seckan, the governor of North Bank Region, commended the management and staff of Jammeh Foundation for Peace (JFP) for their timely response to the welfare of the affected families. He recalled that the heavy floods resulted to displacement of families and loss of properties. The NBR governor thanked the people in the region for their active participation in the evacuation and hosting of displaced families. He appealed to institutions, philanthropic organisations and individuals to assist the Regional Disaster Management Committee in providing prompt humanitarian services to the people.

Fafanding Kinteh, the chief of Lower Baddibu District, applauded Jammeh Foundation for Peace for their humanitarian assistance, citing the establishment of the foundation's hospital, provision of scholarships to the needy and deserving students across the country among others. Chief Kinteh used the occasion to thank the president for the foresight in setting up such an important foundation in providing humanitarian assistance and by extension, promoting greater understanding in peace building and encouraging community dialogue towards common objectives.

The Alkalo of Kerr Ardo, Gibbi Jallow, applauded Abdoulie Panneh for facilitating the transportation of the materials to affected victims in the region.
