Jigimarr VDC trained on project implementation

Friday, March 27, 2009
The Multi Disciplinary Facility Team (MDFT) Kubandarr ward, in the North Bank Region, last Friday organised a two-day training on project implementation for the executive members of the Jigimarr Village Development Community (VDC).

Speaking to Daily Observer, the team leader of the MDFT, Ali Gaye said the purpose of the training was to give the VDC first hand information about village development matters and to help them identify and guide them for their project implementation. He said the village is elected for projects that are lined up for 2009. "This is why we are organising this training for MDFTs with various officials in the agriculture, education and health sectors. So after identifying their projects, we will assist them in lectures and finance," he said.

Mballa MS Ndow, Chairperson of the Jigimarr Village Development Committee, described the training as timely, noting that no one is an island and no one can stand a lone. He said with such training, they will be able to identify a good project that will help and benefit the whole village. Assan Njang, the Alkalo of the village, thanked MDFT for their help and urged the people of his village to take this training seriously.
