Monday, February 02, 2009
The chairman of Jokadou council of elders Alhagie Ousman Sinyan of Madina Njama Village in the North Bank Region, has commended the people of Jokadou for cultivating cereals and sesame farms for the President Jammeh.

He made this remark in an interview with this reporter at his village recently. He applauded the efforts of the people, describing it as a clear testimony of their unflinching support to the APRC party. Sinyan revealed that the gesture is aimed at complementing president Jammeh's efforts, as well as responding to his back-to-the-land call for the attainment of food self-sufficiency. He used the opportunity to commend The Gambian leader for treating different kinds of diseases and also for contributing towards empowerment of girls' education.

He urged the people to continue supporting the development initiative of the government towards the realization of sustainable development. The chairman hailed the efforts of the district chief, Alh Jim Fatma Jobe and Hon Kebba Gaye, the National Assembly Member for Jokadou Constituency, in the execution of their duties by promoting unity and cooperation among the people of the area.

He assured the constituents of the Council of elders' continuous resolve in the maintenance of peace, unity and mutual understanding, among the people of Jokadou.
