The communities of Jufurreh and Albreda have appealed to the government and other stakeholders to come to their aid to develop their craft market.

This appeal was launched last Saturday during the visit of the Development and Sustainable Excursion to Juffureh/Albreda project's Board of Trustee's inaugural meeting with the Community Development committee of the project.

Speaking at the inaugural meeting, Adama Bah, program manager for the Travel Foundation, advised the craft vendors and the villagers to always welcome the visitors in their midst happily without assaulting them.  He said the Board of Trustee would like to have meetings with the community at least once or twice every year to enable them to report on the progress of the project by analyzing the income and expenditure.

Cherno Saidy and Mariama Taal, both craft vendors shared similar views and appealed to the government, stakeholders and GTA, to come to their aid in order to establish a good and modern market that befits Juffureh/Albreda. They revealed that tourists do not patronise the market due to guide instructions.

Bora Taal, head of the tourist guide, expressed his delight with the project and thanked the Alkalos for their cooperation. Alkali Mendy and Momodou Jagne, VDC Chairman and representative of Juffureh/Albreda communities, all complained of a bad road network. "The tourists that travel through Safari (road) are always in difficulties, to reach their destinations especially in the raining season" they said.
