Kairaba Beach Hotel gets stay of execution in D6M caseThursday, August 09, 2012 The Gambia Court of Appeal has stayed the execution of the orders of the Commission of Inquiry into Tax Evasion and other corrupt practices, in the sum of D6, 399,097.26 reportedly owed to the state by Kairaba Beach Hotel. The court of Appeal, presided over by Justice Joseph Wowo as president, with Justice Naceesay Sallah Wadda and Justice Amie Joof as members, however ordered that the appellant enter into a bond with the Registrar of the Court of Appeal in the said sum of D6, 399, 097.26. The said court order followed the application filed by the appellant, Kairaba Beach Hotel, for staying the execution of the orders of the adverse findings and/or the recommendations of the Commission of Inquiry into Tax Evasion and other corrupt practices in The Gambia served on them, pending the hearing and determination of the appeal. The said
court orders were rendered in the presence of Mr Gerard Lombardo, the general
manager of the appellant, Mrs Ida Drammeh, counsel for the appellant and Mr M.
