Kanilai festival: Roadmap of African unity -Governor SannehTuesday, June 08, 2010 As the Kanilai International Cultural Festival reaches climax, Lamin Sannehå, the governor of the Western Region, has described the festival as a roadmap of African unity, saying African integration can become a reality through the Festival. In an interview with reporters in Kanilai, Governor Sanneh said: "Events of this nature are important in the revitalisation of Africa's rich cultural heritage". The festival, he added, is meant to review and showcase African cultures, as it could lead to understanding, tolerance and unity among Africans and possibly beyond the continent. The governor said the festival could also enhance peaceful co-existence among societies, countries as well as the free movement of people and goods within the sub-region.
