Karmic Angels pledges assistance to Abubacarr-as-Siddiq Institute

Thursday, March 19, 2009
Karmic Angels, a charitable organisation in The Gambia, established by a British couple, Stephanie and Alan Turner, has pledged to give support to the Abubacarr-as-Siddiq Islamic Institute in Bakau by constructing classroom blocks, connect water taps, refurbish the toilets and the install of electricity.

The promise came following last Monday's visit by the British couples with Pa Liou Gomez and Landing Colley, members of the Board of Trustees. Abubacarr-as-Siddiq Institute is both Arabic and English learning institute. Speaking to the couple, Seyaka Demba, the principal of the school revealed that they were very much appreciative to the promise given to them by Karmic Angles.

He described Karmic Angels as nation builders, noting that because of classroom problems, the school failed to admit some students in recent years. He thanked Karmic Angels for the generously. The project manager of the school, Abubacarr Demba, who is also a teacher at the school, assured Karmic Angels of the community's involvement in the project. He assured that most of the labour force will be done by the community.
As a classroom teacher, Demba said that he has been seeking assistance from philanthropists on behalf of the school.

Stephanie and Alan Turner, founders of Karmic Angels, seized the opportunity to express their resolve to promote quality education in The Gambia. They described health and agriculture as their main priority areas of intevention and quickly expressed hope that the installation of water taps in the schools will help them venture into agricultural activities such as gardening.
