Friday, January 27, 2012
Gambian international defender Kebba Ceesay and two of his Djurgarden teammates in Daniel Sjolund and Johan Oremo are suspected of tax fraud in Sweden Observer Sports can report. The Djurgarden trio is suspected of having concealed just over 5.5 million kroner.

After a tax raid against Djurgarden IF, the authoritiees suspected three players for fraud. Economic Crimes Bureau has launched a preliminary investigation and the players Daniel Sjolund, Kebbe Ceesay and Johan Oremo could face large amounts in penalty tax. Prosecutor Gunnar Unger at the Economic Crimes Bureau in Stockholm has decided to launch a criminal investigation of tax offenses against the three players who are suspected of having submitted false information and withheld about 5.5 million Swedish kroner.

The reason is that the Tax Agency believes that the fees of agents and insurance policies should be counted as wages, and underestimated thereafter. Reacting to the development, first accused Daniel Sjolund’s attorney Ralph Strandberg told Sportbladet his client believes that he has not done anything wrong. Daniel Sjolund’s salary has been increased by over two million for the year 2011. Teammate Johan Oremo’s was increased by more than 3.3 million for tax years 2009 and 2010 and Kebbe Ceesay, is suspected of having concealed 165 000 SEK.
