Kerr Serign resident sentenced for theft

Africa » Gambia
Tuesday, February 07, 2012

One Ebrima Suwareh, a resident of Kerr Serign was on Monday convicted and sentenced by the Bundung Magistrates Court presided over by Principal Magistrate Foster, for the offence of theft, contrary to the Laws of The Gambia.

The facts of the case revealed that the convict, on the 18th of September 2011 at Kerr Serign in the Kanifing Municipality, stole one empty barrel, being the property of one Aja Huja Sarr. The prosecutor handling the case, 1st 3466 Sawaneh called two witnesses, while the convict on the other hand defended himself without calling any witness.

The prosecution was however able to prove their case beyond reasonable doubts to sustain the conviction of Ebrima Suwareh.

The convict, Ebrima Suwareh was therefore sentenced accordingly.
