Kings Kids Academy contributes to EFA goals - Says headmaster

Africa » Gambia
Tuesday, March 02, 2010
Micheal Olusegun Taiwo, the headmaster of Kings Kids International School has said that his school is contributing to the achievement of Education For All (EFA) goals.

He made this remarks recently in a chat with this reporter at the school premises in Lamin Village, Kombo North District.
According to him, the school management and teachers are all university graduates and they provide the students standard and quality education at both the nursery and primary school levels. "We do not compromise with the education of our students; as a result we conduct assessment tests every month, to enable us know and make extra focus on the ones who didn’t perform well," he explained.

He also  revealed that the school has been operating for over a decade now and that most of their ex-pupils are doing very well in the schools they were admitted to, which he said is a testimony of the standards that the school inculcated in them. For his part, Dennis Ejila, the chairman of the board and the founder of the school, said be has been in The Gambia for 15 years now and has always been keen to contribute to the educational sector of the country.

He noted that it is because of such zeal that he decided to establish a nursery and primary school in Lamin village so as to give Gambian children a solid educational foundation. "If we have the necessary facilities we will operate up to the junior secondary school level to allow our students to continue with us as they enjoy the environment and the standard education they are having in the school," he said.

He also used the opportunity to thank the Gambian government for its good governance, and for providing him the enabling environment to operate and contribute to nation building in the country.
