Monday, August 23, 2010
Pristine Consulting, a software consulting firm, on Thursday August 19, presented a D60, 000 worth of sporting gear to the Interior female football team at a ceremony held at the Gambia Police Force Headquarters conference hall in Banjul.

The donated items include, among other items, sets of football jerseys, tracksuits, and socks.
Speaking at the ceremony, the minister of Interior & NGO Affairs, Mr Ousman Sonko, said he was pleased and honoured to witness such an auspicious occasion marking the handing over of valuable sports items to the Interior female team.

He thanked the donors for the confidence and trust they have in the team hence accepting the offer to be the team’s main sponsor. According to Minister Sonko, the  Interior ministry does not only boast of a star-studded female football team that have four female championship titles to their name, but also a formidable male soccer team as well as terrific volleyball and athletics teams that have also been delighting hearts in their respective sporting disciplines.

Imploring the beneficiary team to make good use of the equipment, Sonko also tasked them to yearn for more trophies in order to bring pride for both the ministry and their proud donors – Pristine Consulting – whom he described as true partners of his ministry. For his part, Hassan Touray, chief technology officer at Pristine Consulting, on behalf of his CEO, said the items were handed to the most deserving football team as evident in the team’s impressive record in the past years.

Assuring the team of his company’s continuous support and collaboration, Touray said such magnanimous gesture, will only motivate the team to aim even higher in their subsequent championships. Other speakers at Thursday’s presentation ceremony include Yankuba Sonko, Inspector General of the Gambia Police Force, Mariama Sowe, head coach of Interior female team and Ebou Waggeh, media consultant of Pristine Consulting.
