KLBS visits Observer Company

Africa » Gambia
Thursday, March 04, 2010
The Social and Environmental Studies Club of Kembujeh Lower Basic School (KLBS) last Thursday visited the Observer Company in Kanifing.

The purpose of their visit was to gain first hand information about journalistic work. Upon their arrival at the Observer Company, the students were taken on a conducted tour to see for themselves what the Observer Company does. They started from the Security Department, and on to the Marketing and Editorial Departments.

Speaking to this reporter shortly after their visit, the teacher-coordinator, Hina Mansa Suso said that the visit was in-line with their syllabus. He explained that the visit will create more awareness and understanding on environmental issues being discussed in the classroom. The students also expressed delight at the visit, saying they have learnt a lot and commended the staff of the company for their good work in the delivery of news.
