Latrikunda compound burns down

Sunday, February 08, 2009
A serious fire disaster recently engulfed a building housing the family of one Haddy Sowe of Jagne Kunda in Latrikunda Sabiji, destroying properties worth around D150,000.

According to Haddy Sowe-Jagne, the cause of the fire is yet to be established but it might have emanated from a lit candle in one of the tenants' room. Saul Jagne, president of The Gambia Association of Theatre and an education officer, told the Daily Observer that the fire cost the family a lot as all their belongings perished in the fire.

He appealed to donors, the government and philanthropists to help the family. Anyone willing to assist can contact the Jagne Kunda family through Saul Jagne on: 9924733 or 7924733.
