Lawmakers approve over D3BN Appropriation Bill

Lawmakers Tuesday unanimously approved the Appropriation Bill 2012, estimated at D3, 816, 327 567. The bill entitled, “An Act to provide for the services of The Gambia from the Consolidated Revenue Fund for the period 1st January 2012 to 31st December 2012” was tabled before deputies by the minister of Finance and Economic Affairs, Mambury Njie. Minister Njie explained that the objective of the Bill is to provide for the services of The Gambia for the period 1st January, 2012 to 31st December, 2012.

He revealed that the allocations for additional expenditure are as follows: Office of The President, D288, 6133, 165; National Assembly Services, D 51, 569, 984; Judiciary, D31, 077, 248; Independent Electoral Commission, D31, 527, 212; Public Service Commission, D2, 851, 116; National Audit Office, D12, 362, 914; Ministry of Defence, D348, 351, 032; Ministry of Interior, D345, 797, 096; Ministry of Tourism, D14, 190, 225; Ministry of Foreign Affairs, D382, 075, 848;

Ministry of Justice, D34, 837, 563; Ministry of Finance, D302, 757,102; Pensions and Gratuities, D4,000,000; Office of the Ombudsman, D14, 922, 346; Miscellaneous, D63, 936, 000; Ministry of Local Government and Lands, D34, 893, 223; Ministry of Agriculture, D101, 845, 969; Ministry of Works, Construction and Infrastructure, D22, 083, 498; Ministry of Trade, Regional Integration and Employment, D 54, 480, 683; Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education, D588, 768, 251; Ministry of Health and Social Welfare, D436, 393, 263; Ministry of Youths and Sports, D21, 368, 464; Ministry of Forestry and the Environment, D16, 814, 522;
