Letter: Well done, Mr PresidentThursday, March 04, 2010 Editor, Please allow me space in your popular and widely read newspaper to congratulate His Excellency Sheikh Professor Alhaji Dr. Yahya A.J.J. Jammeh on appointing Mr. Yankuba Sonko to the position of acting Inspector General of Police. This is another manifestation of His Excellency’s desire for a better public service that will continue to maintain standards and professionalism in the absolute interest of the Gambian people. Mr. President, I must concede that your leadership style is visionary and admired by many including my humble self. It is an unchallenging fact that the appointment of Mr. Yankuba Sonko to the position of acting Inspector General of Police is timely, commendable and justifiable. Yankuba is a seasoned professional with proven success in policing, security operations and management combined with his ability to operate, manage, reintegrate and remodel the Gambia Police Force based on his vast experience, sold over the years. To that note, I congratulate the new acting IGP on his appointment. My advice to him is to continue to work up to expectations and ensure collective approach to police organisation, with police managers anticipating events through planning, using personnel and resources effectively and deliver a whole range of services to the community. Please be rest assured of our 100% cooperation and support. Once again Mr. President congratulations! SGT. Sam Fatty Prosecutions, IGP. | Media Actions See Also |
