The Gambian leader, His Excellency Sheikh Professor Alhaji Dr Yahya Jammeh has received two letters of appreciation . Theletterscame from one Fatou Kinneh Joof, principal private secretary, Ministry of Fisheries, Water Resources and National Assembly Matters for awarding her with a national honour and the entire family of the late Alhaji Malanding Demba of Siffoe village for the gift of condolence.

The letters reads:

It is with a great humility and deep sense of gratitude that I write on my behalf and on behalf of my family to express my heartfelt appreciation and deepest gratitude for awarding me the Insignia of the National Honour of the Gambia.

May the Almighty Allah reward you for your manumit, benevolence and kind gesture you have extended to me and my family. May Allah continue to keep you safe and to guide you to steer the affairs of this country to higher heights for many years to come.

Under your able and sterling leadership, your Government has continued to impact positively on the quality of lives of families through your programs and projects and in the maintenance of peace and stability of the country, Allah loves those who show gratitude. I am grateful.

Mr. President, thank you very much. Your are always in our prayers. May Allah grant you the wisdom, strength, long life and good health to continue your good for mankind.

Principal private secretary

……………..

On behalf of Alhagie Ismaila Sambou, Alhagie Omar Demba (the younger brother of the decease), Buba Demba (the eldest of the decease) and the entire family of the late Alhagie Malanding Demba of Sifoe Village wish to extend to you a big thank you for the charity that you have given to them through Honourable Dr. Tangara, Honourable Lamin Kaba Bajo and Honourable Abdoue Colley on the demise of the late Alhagie Malanding Demba of Sifoe village.

The amount of one hundred thousand dalasis (D100, 000. 00) would go a long way in assisting the family of the late Alhagie Malanding Demba. The entire family really has the knowledge and understanding that you really shared this sad moment with us, as the late beloved father really had a deep love for you, your family and the entire Gambian people.

Your Excellency, it is worthy to relate to you that just two (2) days before his death our beloved father had difficulty to speaks loudly, but miraculously he was repeatedly saying your name and that of Dr. Tangara with a deep smile to a point that everybody around him became happy thinking that he was recovering. We reckon during the period of his illness, he would lack appetite to eat anything except when your name is mentioned to him. There is no doubt that our beloved father really loved you and we stand to say that he still loves you in heaven.

Your Excellency, the entire Demba Kunda family wishes to inform you that, it is you (President Jammeh) who lost the father, but for us our father is you, for you are the eldest of Alhagie Malanding Demba. Therefore we are putting you in his position as a father, mentor, and advisor and all other parental roles. He really advised us to be steadfast behind you in all condition and we assured you of our unflinching supports and prayers at all time.

The entire family will observe his forty days prayers on the 7th of June 2012. Thank for your support and considerations throughout all times.

The entire family of the late

Alhagie Malanding Demba
