17 year old teenage sensation Pa Alieu Darbo has signed a three year deal with French First Division La Mans from Swede Allsvenskan Orgryte Gambia Sports reports.

Forward Darbo who was born in the Scandinavian country (Sweden) to Gambian parents in 1992 was the subject of a transfer battle between two French clubs in Le Man and Nice before he decides joining the former. He was invited on trials by both clubs after he was spotted playing for the reserves of his local club Orgryte but impressed both after only two days into his two weeks stay before he was offered a permanent deal.

The father of the lad, Alagie Darbo, who is currently on holidays in the country spoke exclusively to Gambia Sports Online about his son before he went onto say unlike many that, his son is interested in playing for the Gambia. "Alieu Darboe is my son who started playing football at the age of only six years. When we saw that he was very interested in the game, me and his mother help him and make sure he gets all his needs."He was playing for his local club Orgryte where a scout scouted him in a tournament including more than 350,000 children. The scout talked to a football agent before the duo call me to make their intensions known on my son.

I sat down with them and to my surprised; they informed me that Nice was interested in him for a trial."He went for a two weeks trial but after only two days, they offered him a contract. Then I got a call again that Le Mans was interested who also offered him a two weeks trials but then again after two days, they were impressed enough and offered a three year deal. But after studying both offers, we decide that Le Mans was better for him because they are going to be responsible for his Education also" Darboe told www.gambiasports.gm.

"My son, Darbo continues, will definitely love to play for the Gambia because he has been coming here before and that is entirely his decision not mine but am very proud of that. I will try and talk to the authorities so that he can play for the U-17's in the World Cup in Nigeria".

Darbo will travel to France on July 28, when he will finalise the deal. For Alieu Darbo, it is a dream come true and he hopes that he will be given a chance to come through the ranks in the club. "I really want to play football, so this will be great" Darbo told the Göteborg-Posten.
