Monday, August 10, 2009
The principal and staff of Latrikunda Upper Basic School, on Monday, August 3, gathered at the school  for a befitting staff party marking the end of the 2008/09 academic year.

The school principal, Mrs Mary A Allen, joined the members of her staff to dance to light music thataccompanied delicious food and drinks served by the female teachers of the school. "This is the end of year party. It is the time for us to say thank you God for another fruitful academic year," merry-looking Allen said in her brief opening statement. "This is not the time to give long speeches, but instead to dance and laugh together as we look forward to another academic year," she concluded.

Monday's party came few weeks after the renowned school was joined by the World Health Organization (WHO) representative in The Gambia, minister for Health and Social Welfare and other dignitaries, to celebrate the World Tobacco Day.
